Best Drift Cars by Category
Touge Battles (Technical Mountain Roads)
These cars excel on narrow, twisty mountain passes:
- Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 — The legend. Light, nimble, perfect for tight corners
- Mazda MX-5 (2016) — Analog drift feel, easy to control
- Nissan Silvia S15 — The ultimate touge machine
- BMW E36 M3 — Stable, predictable, great for extended slides
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS — Surprisingly excellent for touge once tuned
Drift Zones (Score-Based)
For maximum points, you need sustained angles and high speeds:
- Formula Drift Nissan Z — Highest scoring potential in competitive drift
- Formula Drift BMW M2 — Best for transition-heavy zones
- Hoonigan RS200 — Best for power-scoring in long zones
- Formula Drift Corvette — Highest smoke output, great for style points
- Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 — Ken Block's legacy, built to slide
Skill Score Farming
These cars generate the most skill points per minute:
- Hoonigan RS200 Evolution — The undisputed king. 2x skill multiplier, massive power
- Formula Drift Supra — Excellent skill chain potential
- Mega商用 Vehicle (any van) — Surprisingly high skill multipliers when upgraded

Universal Drift Tune Recipe
Use this baseline for any drift car, then fine-tune:
Tires: Stock / Sport (more slide with stock)
Drivetrain: RWD conversion if not already RWD
Differential: 100% accel / 0% decel
Suspension: Drift springs, full soft front, stiff rear
Anti-roll bars: Full stiff front, soft rear
Camber: -2.5° front, -1.5° rear
Toe: 0.2° out front, 0° rear
Tire pressure: 30 psi front, 28 psi rear
Gearing: Extend final drive by 15-20% for longer slides
Driving Tips for Better Drift Scores
- Manual shifting is mandatory — Hold gears longer for sustained angle
- Use the clutch (if using manual + clutch) — Quick clutch kicks initiate slides without losing speed
- Counter-steer progressively — Jerky steering kills your angle and score
- Initiate early — Start your drift before the corner, not at the apex
- Link corners — A 3-corner chain is worth more than 3 single corner drifts
- Avoid walls — Wall taps tank your skill score multiplier
How to Unlock Formula Drift Cars
Formula Drift cars are available in the Autoshow from the start. They cost 300k-400k credits each. All 12 Formula Drift cars from previous Horizon games return in FH6, plus 4 new additions including the Forsberg Nissan Z.
If you're new to drifting, start with the Nissan Silvia S15 (A 760 build) — it costs under 100k total and teaches you proper drift technique without the crutch of 600+ HP.
